Five Questions with Noam Chomsky

Professor Noam Chomsky is one of the world's most perceptive social critics. Merlin Chowkwanyun had the opportunity to ask him some questions concerning a range of subject matter.

Professor Chomsky's latest book is Hegemony or Survival: America's Quest for Global Dominance. Other works, many recently reissued, include American Power and the New Mandarins, Manufacturing Consent, and Deterring Democracy.

Improving Land Literacy

Land literacy program addressing the sustainability issues is increasingly becoming an important factor. The Collaborative Research Support Program (2003) argues that large scale implementation of land literacy programmes is needed to address land degradation of rapidly changing societies. The website below reports a number of short case studies to outline their vision for education and advocacy as tools for achieving sustainable natural resource management. Examples includes Philippine experience in land literacy programmes. I am interested in learning more about your experience or views. Any thoughts on this?
